CleanUp LinkedIn Privacy Policy

Clean-Up LinkedIn – Privacy Policy (v2.1)
Last updated : 27 June 2025

Quick-read summary

  • We do not collect, transmit or sell any of your data.
  • All processing happens inside your own browser.
  • The only information saved is your extension-preferences (e.g. “hide right rail”) in Chrome Sync.
  • Remove the extension → those settings disappear automatically.
  • We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to LinkedIn Corp.
    For the legally-detailed version, keep reading.

1. Who we are

Scerno Visualise Ltd.
Registered in the United Kingdom
Contact : info@scerno.com

2. What the extension does

Clean-Up LinkedIn is a user-side interface tweak.
It rearranges, hides or shows parts of the LinkedIn feed only in your own browser tab so you can read more comfortably.

3. Data we process

CategoryWhat it containsWhere it livesHow long
Extension settings (e.g. column count, feed width, hide sidebars)Booleans and numbers only – never LinkedIn content or personal infochrome.storage.sync (encrypted by Chrome & synced to any signed-in Chrome profile)Until you uninstall the extension or clear Chrome Sync data
LinkedIn page contentPosts currently visible in your tabHeld in RAM only while the page is openDisappears when you close the tab / browser

We do not:

  • send analytics, crash logs or any other packets to our own servers;
  • embed third-party tracking libraries;
  • read or store your LinkedIn credentials, messages, or profile data.

4. How to delete your data

Simply remove the extension from Chrome (⋮ > Extensions > Remove).
Chrome automatically deletes its storage area; nothing remains on our side because nothing was ever transmitted.

5. Legal basis (UK GDPR)

We rely on the lawful basis of “legitimate interest” to provide a customised UI. No personal data leaves your device, so most GDPR obligations (e.g. data-subject access requests, data-processing agreements) are not triggered.

Should you nonetheless wish to exercise any GDPR right, e-mail info@scerno.com and we will respond within 30 days – normally by confirming that we hold no personal data about you.

6. Security

Because all processing is local and no backend exists, the main security surface is Chrome itself. Your settings are encrypted in transit and at rest by the Chrome Sync service. We never see the encryption key.

7. Changes to this policy

If we ever introduce remote services or collect additional data, we will:

  1. Publish an updated policy here,
  2. Bump the extension version, and
  3. Display an in-extension notice before the update is applied.
